     We hear it all the time. “Act your age.”  “Dress your age, “or “ Your’e too old for that.”  Let me fill you in on a little secret. Age is just a number. It doesn’t define who you are, what you should wear, or how you should live. Society has created this illusion of how we are supposed to live at certain times of our lives. In reality, these illusions weren’t meant for you or me. Your life, your style, your choices should reflect who you are. You should never be defined by someone else. Life and style are personal.

     When you stop dressing for your age group and start dressing for yourself, you unlock a new kind of freedom. Style isn’t a number. It’s about creativity, energy and the confidence you have in yourself and lets be real, when you look good you feel good and your self esteem flourishes. It allows you to show up authentically every day. Fashion is the easiest way to break the stereotypes. If you choose to wear dresses and sneakers-great. If you choose to where bright colors -go for it. And if you wear sparkles and dangling earrings-then shine brightly and own it. One of my favorite quotes is “Never let anyone dull your sparkle.”

     When you get to be our age, what people think should no longer be of concern to you. We’ve been there done that already. The world is a more judgmental place than ever so hold your head high and know we are all cheering for you.

     I have always been a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. The cheaper the better. Growing up I was lucky to get a new sweater for Christmas. (Which didn’t usually fit) Back to school clothing werenot heard of. I grew up being bullied and made fun of. I didn’t want my children to go through that so I did my best to buy them what I could. I put myself last and when I bought something for myself it was probably off the clearance rack. Deep down I always wished I was a fashionista. Perfect hair, nails and perfect clothing. While I will never have a closet like Kim Kardashian, I do know that cleaning out the clutter from my closet allows me to find some fun items that make me happy and I will not care about what anyone else thinks. Why? Because I can, because I’m in that place of not caring what anyone thinks. So today, put on that sparkle and be fabulous! ✨✨
